Flamboro,On

Next it's off to Flamboro to visit Peggy's old school buddy Liz Legros and her husband Tony.

After meandering up their driveway we found a place to park the coach.
Right here in the driveway by their little 5500 sq ft shack.

We started the visit with a beer and then it evolved with a great steak dinner.

They also have some horses that we visited and are building this giant horse arena.

I have never heard of horses that skate or play hockey but I guess they just think their horses should have a rink to learn.

The girls had some wine and fun.

Tony succeeded in getting me to try a great red wine that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Eventually good-byes were once again called for but we had a great time and will get together again.

Bellwood

After saying good-bye to Jacquie and Yvon the mutts hit the dash and we were off to Highland Park campground at Bellwood Lake to visit the Moody's.

We met Don and Deb at Myrtle Beach 2 years ago and have kept in touch by email ever since. We had never met Tango but he is now an old friend.
We headed for the bar for some appetizers and wings and also there might have been beer involved.

After we had a fire but were driven into the house by rain.

We got caught up on the times of the last 2 years and had a laugh or two.
Thursday morning they had us over for a great breakfast before we said our good-byes and hit the road once again.
We will probably catch up with them again at a Nascar Race.

Kincardine,On

Note:
Sonny is not doing too good. Not only does he have diabetes but we think his vision is going.

It was 10:30am and we were fuelling up for our next trip.We did not have far to go but when we exited the gas station we turned the wrong way.The "Dash Bitch" adjusted and told us how to go so we followed her directions.
It took us almost 3 1/2 hours to go about 100km as the crow flys.

We did reach our destination a little late but our friends were still there.

They took us to Port Elgin where we devoured fish and chips at the all you can eat joint.

Then it was a quick tour and back home to see the sunset.

We then sat around the fire and had a good chin wagging.

We met Jacquie and Yvon at Hemet California and have since met up with them in Miami,Mexico and Edmonton.

Sunday

Sunday was a quiet day.

Peg did some laundry and I washed the car and the coach.

Work work work work work.

And after all that work-Beers were required.

We post poned the boat buying for now as we would not be able to use it till next August or September

There is no use in paying for insurance, storage etc for almost a year of non use. Also,it would be one year older by the time we used it.

I think I might make a low ball offer today and if we can steal it we will buy it now.If not,it is what it is.

Pat Tara and the kids were coming for Pizza and wings  but Pat didn't make it .Apparently he has a man sized cold.(I thought I was the only one to get those).

We tried to get him to pull up his big girl panties and come anyway but to no avail.

Tara and the kids came and we ate the Pizza and the wings.

Then it was time to say our good-byes until next year.

Time

My how time flys.

It seems like we just got here and it's almost time to go.

On Friday we picked up Julie and Breena and headed for Midland.
Midland is probably most famous for Having the Martyr's Shrine close by or maybe for maybe for having my curling cousins or just because I was born there.

We went there to see this boat.

We were going there anyway to visit my aunt who still lives in the house my uncle built over 60 years ago.Aunt Barb is 86 and as spry as ever.Great to see her again.(Forgot to take camera).

Saturday Aunt Donna,Uncle Don, Cousin Kathy,Daughter Liz and fiance Steve came to the house before we headed over to Tara and Pat's.(Peggy has more family in one house visit than I have in the whole world)

Just to clarify- Steve is Kathy's fiance not mine.

Everybody had a great visit while Pat and I did all the work???

We did have a great meal and everybody appeared to have enjoyed themselves, but as always the sun set and it was time to go.So we did.

Back to Barrie

We hung around Gravenhurst for a few days with the Braziers, drinking and eating.Peg went off with Doneen to visit one day and I just played with my music making playlists etc.

I have a few songs now as I acquired a couple from Rod.
Totally legally of course.

Tuesday it was back to Barrie to the KOA,where we will be staying for a week.

Wednesday we slipped into Barrie where we had lunch with Tara and then we shot up to Orillia and had a look at this boat.
I like this one

Then it was back home for a relaxing evening in the rain.Actually we were not in the rain as we stayed inside.

Cher relaxed in a chair

Fartso slept in the bed

Sonny fell asleep while on fly duty.

Peg had another glass of wine.

Back to Gravenhurst

Wendy came and took us out for breakfast then we headed back to Gravenhurst.

After settling in to The Hillbilly Camp we scooted over to Rod and Doneen's for drinks and appies which lasted well into the darkness.Peggy got us home safe and sound.

My previous step mother Eva and her husband Clarke were at a  reunion in Gravenhurst so we got together with them for dinner at The Regatta Steak House and Grill on the water. We had a fabulous time talking about years gone by and getting caught up.Once again I got no pictures.Dah!

Also on Saturday we whipped over to Orillia to look at a camp ground and maybe entertain the thought of buying a boat and spending some summertime in Ontario.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Next thing you know we are boat shopping. This is fun.

Peg came up with the great idea that maybe we should get a boat we could live on for the summer?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Our friend Kim Wallace owns Mariposa Landing Marina in Orillia so that would be a great place to dock for the summer. We could also go to Georgian Bay one way and Montreal the other on the Trent Severn System

Hmmmmmmmmmmm!

So far this 37 ftr is the one we have settled on but we are still looking.
We don't want to buy a boat this year but you never know?

Hmmmmmmmmmmm!

Peterborough Still

We are still in Peterborough visiting with Wendy.

We have had a great visit again and the weather has been ok.It's getting a little chilly but I guess fall is coming.
Kim and Karen Wallace took us out for dinner the other night and it was great seeing them again.
Don't even ask me why I forgot to take any pictures.

The campground is almost empty but there is no room for us for the weekend as it is full.

Wendy is coming over this morning and we are going out for breakfast and then it will be time to say our good-byes again.
Visiting is great but there is always that sad time when you have to leave or when they throw you out.

Peterborough,On

Monday we literally did nothing,almost.
I tried to fix my front shades but the parts they sent me were different from the old broken ones.
After getting in touch with them I found out that the parts they sent are the updated version and will work.
A project for another day now.
We did enjoy relaxing and doing very little.

I almost forgot.A guy stopped by the park in Barrie to say hi. We had met in him in Myrtle Beach,South Carolina 2 years ago.He recognized the coach. We are also going to visit other friends we met at Myrtle Beach 2 years ago, later this month.
Small World

Tuesday at the crack of 10;30 we were on the road to Peterborough.

Peterborough is famous for having the worlds tallest hydraulic liftlock.
It is also famous for having me as a resident after I finished high school.

This is the tunnel under the liftlock which my GPS took me through on the way to the campground.I remembered it as soon as we turned the corner but it was too late.We did make it without a scratch.

We are here to visit my step-mother Wendy, who arrived at the campground shortly after we did.We had a nice visit catching up and all.

I had to make a dash for the chip truck to get my fix.Wendy also brought me my other Ontario fixes of Pea meal bacon and malt bread and of course Kraft peanut butter.

We then went shopping at Costco before Wendy took us out for dinner.
After dinner it was more visiting and then some sleeping.
