Staying Home

Today we stayed home.
Peg cleaned the inside of the coach and I worked on the outside.

Work--work--work--work--work,not my favorite word but a mans got to do what a mans got to do.

Then it was happy hour,finally.

The Braziers came to our house and we sat around outside where they again forced us to have a few.

Peg made a great Veal Scaloppine with Fettuccine Alfredo and wine.

Then we just sat around and listened to the women talk.

I also think there was more wine was involved.

And Bob's your uncle.

Muskoka Lake

It was a fine day with a few clouds and a lot of sun,so we scooted over to the Braziers again.(The yellow one)

The water was calling and the boat she was a cryin for us.

Peg was anxious to go so we did oblige her.

They were at it again before we left the dock.

Muskoka is a big lake.

It has a island with some ugly birds.

There is a place they keep burning so the Firemen can learn how to fight fires and next door a place where the cops can learn to drive a boat or swim or something like that?

There is also a Taboo Resort where I think you can donate your extra money on a time share.

But if you really want to spend your money you can always buy a boat house.
More on that subject later.

SUNDAY

We got up to the sounds of nothing.
The kids were gone
The dogs were not moving. They were exhausted.
The wind was quiet.
We were quiet also.

After lunch we did go to the store for grub, then it was of to Rod and Doneen's
The snacks were ready when we arrived and of course we were forced into drinking once again.

The "chatties" were soon into it,which left Rod and I to discuss important issues like Music,Stereo,Photography and Boobs.

At the appropriate time the master chef Rod and his DW began the preparations for dinner.

Someone else, while relaxing on the balcony, demanded more wine.

Rod kept cooking,while drinking wine.

Soon dinner was served and everything turned out perfect as usual.

Next thing you know it was getting dark and that means we have to go as we cannot see to drive at night.

The day had come to an end and good-byes needed to be said.

And finally they were said and as sad as that may seem, we will not see them again,
till tomorrow!

Movin On

Time to leave North Bay.

Al and Aline came over for coffee Saturday morning and we said our good-byes to the Chamberlains.

We had a great visit but with all good things they must come to an end.

If you are ever travelling through North Bay book a stay at the Chamberlains Camp Site.
Paved road in
Paved parking
Level site
Free power
Clean modern rest rooms
Hot showers
Home cooked meals
Great parties
Fantastic camp hosts

What more can a guy ask for.

We headed for Gravenhurst where we checked in to the KOA for a few nights. We got set up then headed out to take the kids home to Angus.Their parents had called and asked us to deliver them..I think they were anxious to get them home.
We also got to see their new digs, which of course they are deep into renovations already. We didn't stay too long as we thought they might make us paint or sand floors or something.Besides we will be camping with them on the long weekend.

Then it was back to Gravenhurst for a quick visit with the Braziers ,whom if you have followed by blogs before are "the worlds best hosts".They had food ready when we entered the door, even though they were told not to.We ate their food, had a couple of quick drinks, enjoyed a tour of their great new digs and then headed home to relax and get a good nights sleep.

The Cottage

Today we went over to visit Al and Aline at the cottage.

It was a gorgeous day at the lake.

Terry and Mary-Lynn dropped by

And guess what? Yup! We were forced to drink again and eat too.Aline made us a great meal and she made me eat too much.Honestly it was not my fault.I even had desert.
Some people even drank with two hands.

We sent the kids for a paddle boat ride

But they came back

We tried sending Granny out in the water, but she came back.

We put Breena and Al on the raft.
But they came back too.

Just another great day in life.

I think I will have another beer

Fish Fry

The rain disappeared and the sun came out and so did the beer.

People came
And did some more.

And with my eagle eye I saw that it was going to be a calorie wise fry.

The Chef was in his glory after making ready all day it was finally time for him to shine.
And shine he did. These Pickerel were done to perfection.

Then after dinner we were forced to drink again and again.

And Bob is your uncle.

We left

As they say "Shit Happens"

Before we left we took the dogs to the vet for a check up,drugs and needles for the trip and some dental work for Sonny and Cher-----------------------------------------$2,753.00
Then it was our turn-Drugs for 9 months.Blue cross would only pay for 3 months so our share for 6 months---------------------------------------------------------------- $2,048.00
Ok,now lets fill up with fuel------------------------------------- $    565.00
Deposit on House in Mexico------------------------------------ $ 1,500.00
Pay Visa bill which included Europe Cruise for next year $13,485.00
Maybe we should just stay home!

Actually we can't afford to stay home,we have to skip out of here.

We did leave town Friday the 19th but we have had no internet.
I think there is something wrong with our aircard.

We spent the first night in Yorkton Sask at a truck stop that had a parking lot that was not quite up to par

No Damage done.

Then it was off to Winnipeg Man where we stayed a couple of nights at a good Provincial Park.We only had power which is really roughing it for Peg,but she did manage.

We went to the Manitoba Museum, which would probably be interesting if you gave a Rat's Ass about the history of Manitoba.
The Science part of it was a blast as usual and the Beatles Lazer Show was great.

Next it was off to Ontariario where we spent the night at The Terry Fox Statue in Thunderbay.

Then another day of driving till we got to  Cochrane where we found another truck stop where the food sucked. No wonder some truck drivers are cranky. This Husky was way overpriced, bad food and the service was not.
Speaking of overpriced! Only another $500 plus

Wednesday morning we headed down the road to Englehart   where we had a great breakfast. This is the first day that the weather has not been awesome but what the hell, they need the rain.

We arrived at Dale and Karen Chamberlain's in North Bay in the early afternoon and were forced to start drinking right away.Forced against our will I may add.Later, Dale cooked us up a feast and made us drink even more.

We are staying in the Chamberlains driveway but we did not expect all this V.I.P. treatment.
Tonight they have invited a bunch of people over for a fish fry and we will probably be forced into drinking again.
What's a guy to do.
