Get Ur Done

We went to Jersey Boys last night and it was great, had a fantastic time, but now it's time to get ur done.

Packing up shit and getting ready to go.

                                                           ????????????????????????

I wonder what we forgot cause you always forget something. But that does give you an excuse to buy a new one.

Why is it you always forget to do shit till the last day then you spend all day running around like a chicken with it's head cut off.

Got my eyes tested today, sent $ to US bank account, got beer for me,wine and vodka for mama.

Last thing to do is have a couple and say some good-byes.

Tomorrow morning we are off again

NEW BLOG FOR THIS TRIP IS                 Wheelinit2012-13.blogspot.com

UPDATE

Here it is the later part of August and it's almost time to hit the road.

We will be hitting the trail Sat the 25th,probably at the crack of noon, but who knows.

We have left Whitecourt behind and are spending our last few days here in St Albert at the Kinsmen Park. Our friends Barry & Jan have sold their house and waiting to move into their new Condo so they are also staying here at the park in their trailer so a couple of beers and a few wines have been spilled.

My oldest son Jeff has also moved into the park for a few days as his girlfriend and her kids have the measles. He's never had them so better to be safe than sorry. And it was good to spend some time with him before we go.

We finally got our new car(it looks almost like the old one) and it is now rigged to tow behind the Coach. We sometimes even let Peg drive it caused she promised to keep her eyes on the car in front of her and not be so nosey.

Last long weekend we went to Moose Lake where Mel celebrated his 75th Birthday!

We played a couple of rounds of golf and according to the money that changed hands my sand-bagging skills are not quite as good as everyone elses.

Anyway

Weenies were roasted
and good food was enjoyed

Of course the women all drank too much.

Mel did survive his 75th

Most of his gifts were booze of course

But he did get a new walker.

However

It seems that maybe you have to take a test before you can operate one of these things

Oh ya!  Mel was not the only one that had a good time

Actually we all had a great time.
The food was unbelievable so we ate too much of it.
The booze flowed of course and
The company was superb.

Happy 75 Mel

CRAPPY BLOGGING

Not much blogging going on here in the summer. It's just not the same. When I do this here it feels like a gossip column or a face book or something stupid.
Anyway-we did get the boat running but it has other problems now-not just fuel.No time also.
Breena has arrived
She will be staying until we take her home with us when we head east later in August.

The great day did arrive-The 15th-The big 65!
One more government cheque to spend.Free beer!!!!

The Friels,The Koshs and the Fishers arrived with theirs own beds and the party began.

Friday the old folks ate chicken and the kids fended for themselves.

Saturday a lot of us went golfing while the kids went tubing.
After we cooked up some ribs and everybody pitched in and a great meal was consumed.

We even had the new Ice cream Cakes from Timmy's.

Does it mean something when every one buys you scotch for your birthday?

As far as I know there was only one injury this weekend and that was Mel.

He was attacked by his own cat but I think the Cat payed the price.Mel will get to keep his arm.

July 1st Weekend

Chris rolled in on Thursday and the other kids and friends arrived Friday.

Chris,Jeff,Peg and I went for dinner and by the time we got back the rest were all set up and had the fire going.

We spent a little time with the kids but they had their friends visiting so there were different camps going.

A rare image of Wendy smiling for the lens.

Jeff and I spent a lot of time on the boat, although we did have extra help with the impeller installation

Others just went to play in the river.

Jeff and I finally headed for the river to see if we could get this new engine running.

NOT!

After all our efforts it was a no go.It would fire but not run.
I had put sta-bil in the tank but the gas that's in there is 3 years old.I just added $200.00 worth of premium gas to it and figured it would be ok.
Apparently not.
Looks like I have to drain the tank and start all over.

O Canada

6 MONTHS FROM TODAY IS CHRISTMAS!

 A recent study found
the average Canadian walks
about 900 miles a year.

Another study found
Canadians drink, on average,
22 gallons of beer a year.

That means, on average,
Canadians get about 41 miles to the gallon.

Kind Of Makes one Proud To Be Canadian,
       doesn't it??!!

Weekend Stuff

I filled up the hoe with fluid and it worked again.Tried moving some dirt but there is a seal leaking real bad and it loses power quickly.

Son Jeff come up this weekend so we decided to work on the boat. The boat has no impeller

And no engine.

The boat used to have a stock 350 chevy but it wasn't quite fast enough.

So with Jeff's help(he did most of it) we put together this Chevy 383 Stroker.

We started 3 years ago but somehow priorities change over time.
So it's ready to go in.We get the hoe out for lifting and

In she goes.

We spent the day on this project and it's getting closer to being finished.

After 3 years it's hard to remember where everything goes.Especially the wires, and of course all the mounting stuff does not match all the holes in the new engine and mods are mandatory.
We will figure it out-I hope.

Then it was drink some beer and BBQ some steaks.

Summer

Hurray, finally we might get some summer.
Today, being the first day of summer it is supposed to be sunny and warm.

Bout time,it rains almost every day lately.

Peggy started Physiotherapy yesterday so hopefully she is on the mend.

We had some old friends we met along our travels our first year in a motor home in Persidio,
Texas, drop by for a couple of days on their way to lead a caravan to Alaska.
Had a great visit with Vicky and Guy and swapped a few lies etc.

The river has subsided a bit but is still a little dirty from the run off.
Looking up stream from our deck

Looking down stream from our deck

I don't think any of the kids are coming up this weekend so it should be a very quiet one.

My old hoe started with just a turn of the key after sitting all winter but it won't move.
(when you saw old hoe what were you thinking, the other hoe is spelled ho)

Why would it not move?

Cause it leaked too much fluid,so fill er up I go. I hope this solves the problem,it usually does.

Slack Ass

That's me!
I think I don't keep the blog up in the summer cause there is not a lot to yap about.
Peggy is still hobbling around in her Robo Boot,She should start therapy soon.

We sold our Modular home but it is still sitting here in the way.It was supposed to leave a couple of weeks ago but I am presuming it's still here cause it's too wet to haul it through the field,

We want to pull our coach up to the deck where the house is but we have to wait till it leaves, then we can get back to hooking up the water rather than keep filling the tank all the time. And when we are BBQing on the deck it's a long way to haul everything.

There is too much grass to cut around here
The river is high and dirty as usual this time of year due to the run off in the mountains and of course all the XO#@? rain. There is also a lot of junk floating by,trees ans such.

There is no sun today so that probably means the mosquitos will be out in full force ready to suck out all my alcohol infested blood.

We got the money for the car and I put a deposit on a new one.The insurance money paid for the new car but not enough to cover the tax and we will also have to spend a few thousand getting it rigged up to tow.Oh well it is a new car.

I'm supposed to go golfing today but my gout is going to keep me home I think.Maybe I'll work on the coach or the boat.

UPDATE

Just to update;
Peggy is hobbling around with the Robo boot now,no crutches.Still not dancing though.

We are waiting for the settlement from the insurance co for the car so we can get a new one.

Both my sons split with their girlfriends last week end.(2 eligible bachelors)

It's raining again.I think we have some of the worst weather around. It's still cold and wet.It totally sucks and I'm sick and tired of it.
We have to move.

BONES

Peggy went to the Bones too.

When Peggy went to the hospital after the accident the first doctor told her her ankle was definitely broken.
When we went back to the hospital a different Doctor told her he wasn't sure if it was broken or not.
The other day we went to see the Orthopaedic Surgeon and he said it was definitely not broken.
He says the break that shows up on the xray is an old one and her ankle is sprained.
No Surgery
She has to wear the Robo Boot for 4 or 5 weeks then Physiotherapy

Now that she can put some weight on the boot she is getting around much better on the crutches.
They say times heals all.
We shall see.

The Bone Yard

YUP,That's where our car is headed. The Bone Yard

The insurance company has decided to write it off!

The good news is that we think we have full replacement insurance.I think that means we get a new car.

Only time will tell
