Grande Prairie

We went golfing in Grande Prairie yesterday.

Grande Prairie Texas that is.

Is this concentration or what?

It was a awesome day for weather but the great news is I kicked Rod's butt so we are now even.
Who said revenge is not sweet.

This was one of the more challenging shots I had for the day but it was really not that big a problem.

Cause I just took a free drop!

Golfing

Friday we went golfing.

The course was great and it was a nice day.A little chilly but a nice day.

I think you can tell we should not call it golf that I played: more like whack xoxo.

Rod took me to the cleaners.

Friday night we BBQ'd ya da ya da ya da.

Saturday we went shopping cause Rod wanted to buy some stuff for his golf trip so I bought a new 3 wood. What ever!

Rod needs new stuff cause his old stuff was in his truck and his truck was stolen and not recovered.

Get this.........He had a one ton dually to pull the 5th wheel trailer he lives in and guess what he bought with the insurance money?
You guessed it. A Toyota Rav Four.A small suv.
Good luck gettin up them there hills buddy and I'm not sure if the roof will support that 5th wheel hitch or not.

We stopped for lunch.

Honest we only had lunch.

Then it was back home where they had all kinds of entertainment for the kids for Haloween. They really put on a great thing for  kids and they came by the thousands.

This arm also needs to come from Carefree in Colorado.

Another 7 day wait.

But for $153.00 we can have the part overnighted.

So be it.Hell,I paid over $80.00 to have a jar of peanut butter shipped in.Let's do it.

Nothin

Nothin Happening.
We are just sitting here.Waiting.
We did get the call yesterday telling us to be at Bay #2 at 7am on Monday morning.

If they ordered the right part we will be out of here Monday sometime.Hell, even if they did not order the right part we will be out of here Monday as we will have it shipped somewhere down the road.

We have been here long enough.

Below is just something to read.

AN ACTUAL CRAIG'S LIST PERSONALS AD
To the Guy Who Tried to Mug Me in Downtown Savannah night before last.
Date: 2010-09-27, 1:43 a.m. E.S.T.
I was the guy wearing the black Burberry jacket that you demanded that I hand over, shortly after you pulled the knife on me and my girlfriend, threatening our lives. You also asked for my girlfriend's purse and earrings. I can only hope that you somehow come across this rather important message.
First, I'd like to apologize for your embarrassment; I didn't expect you to actually crap in your pants when I drew my pistol after you took my jacket.. The evening was not that cold, and I was wearing the jacket for a reason.. my girlfriend was happy that I just returned safely from my 2nd tour as a Combat Marine in Afghanistan.. She had just bought me that Kimber Custom Model 1911 .45 ACP pistol for my birthday, and we had picked up a shoulder holster for it that very evening. Obviously you agree that it is a very intimidating weapon when pointed at your head ... isn't it?!
I know it probably wasn't fun walking back to wherever you'd come from with that brown sludge in your pants. I'm sure it was even worse walking bare-footed since I made you leave your shoes, cell phone, and wallet with me. [That prevented you from calling or running to your buddies to come help mug us again].
After I called your mother or "Momma" as you had her listed in your cell, I explained the entire episode of what you'd done. Then I went and filled up my gas tank as well as those of four other people in the gas station, -- on your credit card. The guy with the big motor home took 153 gallons and was extremely grateful!
I gave your shoes to a homeless guy outside Vinnie Van Go Go's, along with all the cash in your wallet. [That made his day!]
I then threw your wallet into the big pink "pimp mobile" that was parked at the curb .... after I broke the windshield and side window and keyed the entire driver's side of the car.
Later, I called a bunch of phone sex numbers from your cell phone. Ma Bell just now shut down the line, although I only used the phone for a little over a day now, so what 's going on with that? Earlier, I managed to get in two threatening phone calls to the DA's office and one to the FBI, while mentioning President Obama as my possible target.
The FBI guy seemed really intense and we had a nice long chat (I guess while he traced your number etc.).
;In a way, perhaps I should apologize for not killing you ... but I feel this type of retribution is a far more appropriate punishment for your threatened crime. I wish you well as you try to sort through some of these rather immediate pressing issues, and can only hope that you have the opportunity to reflect upon, and perhaps reconsider, the career path you've chosen to pursue in life.. Remember, next time you might not be so lucky. Have a good day!
Thoughtfully yours, Semper Fi,
Alex

We had the coach cleaned inside and out along with the car.

We also had showers ourselves. Now at least we look good as we sit here and wait along with all the others.

Our part did arrive Friday afternoon but too late to install of course.Hopefully we will be out of here on Monday sometime.

Some of our friends left yesterday morning and others this morning.
We can't wait to hit the road again.

We watched Saturday Nights Race, which we had recorded.Kyle did great starting 43rd and ending up second.

Soon it was time for the eight is enough crowd which grew to 10.

We got together to tip a couple and then have dinner.Everyone brought a dish or something and we BBQ'd a beef tenderloin.
Once again the food was great and the company even better.

The Rattlesnake Saloon

I have probably mentioned that this is a dry county here in Red Bay.(no booze allowed)

Right!

But if you drive a few miles down the road you cross the county line, low and behold The Rattlesnake Saloon.

Arrive at 5 Drink til 10 and your done.Alcohol means draft beer only.

When you arrive they send the limo up to get you.
Not your conventional limo, just an old crew cab pick up that everyone piles into the back of.
We do seem happy.

Yes we do!

Along the way we pass these 3 silos. The center one is a washroom and the 2 outside ones are bunk houses. No windows, just a door.

Then it's down the hill to the bat cave,er, I mean bar.

This is different.

The eight of us were quite surprised. They said order the Burger so we did.
Fantastik,one of the best.

Holly and Don even did a little dancing.

They also have a balcony section.
Quite the place.

Thursday and Friday

We went in the shop to get our wet bay replaced but apparently ours is fine.
We have a bunch of small items that need taken care of which should only take about a day but we will probably be here a week or so.I will not go into the details.

After happy hour??? we smartened up and had dinner this time. Why?Cause we went to Mr J's for Pizza.Best Damn Pizza I have had in a long time and not only that it was cheap, cause everybody knows what a penny pincher I am.

For lack of something to do on Friday, we headed out today on a wild adventure

I know,I know, you all wish you were here for this event, but your not and we are.

How bout that!

Bet you have never seen any thing like this before.

Now that's an excitin day if I ever seen one.

If ya check out this in you mite even see a couple of live ones still roaming the grounds.

After all that we had to relax and have a short happy hour and a quiet evening watching the Nationwide race.

Wednesday

Hurray! We are out of the body shop.

Not exactly. We do have to go back some time at our leisure for about an hour.Jeffrey at the Red Bay Auto Body is a great guy and wants to do a little touch up to make the job perfect.

I checked and we are next on the list to have our wet bay replaced and that will probably be later today-We hope.

Yesterday we  stopped in at John and Sheila's for a minute and we missed dinner again as happy hour ran till nine.
The neighbours here are awesome. They make this place bearable. The days are long and boring but the nights make up for it.

Thanksgiving

I watched the race with a neighbour John on Sunday and then we celebrated Thanksgiving dinner at our place with the other 6 Canadians.

Peg cooked up a great dinner and I think it was enjoyed by all.

We spent the rest of the evening socializing and maybe we were a little noisy but this place needed a little excitement.
Lights out comes pretty early here

Monday it was back in the body shop for the day and we still have Tuesday to spend at there.Whoopee!

Sunday

Well here it is Sunday morning and it's going to be another hot one.The sun shines here every day.
Great weather.

Sure would be nice to have a pool.

We didn't do much yesterday.Peg did a little work inside and I did some outside. We saw some vines.

We actually saw the vines on Friday but we saved all this excitement until we had a quiet day.

Later we watched the Nationwide race and sucked back a couple of cold ones.
Peg found some more Canadians ,one couple from Ontario and another from Alberta.
Looks like eight for Thanksgiving dinner.

We missed dinner again last night as happy hour ran till after nine.
Oh Dear!

Saturday

It would be nice if Bob put in a pool but that is not going to happen.
Yesterday we got a lot of work done at the body shop and it appears we will be going back there for Monday and Tuesday.
We went to Russellville again yesterday as we needed more booze.

No we did not have any fried oreos, what next?

So for the weekend I guess we will just hang around here and drink some beer etc. There is one other couple here from Canada that we can find and it appears we will have Canadian Thanksgiving with them.

Red Bay,AL

Our appointment was for Tuesday.

Tuesday,in the middle of the night, 7am we pulled the coach into bay 18.They replaced one roof edge and were done about 4:15
Wednesday they replaced the other roof edge and were done about 4pm
Thursday they sent us to the body shop for paint.Done at 5pm.
Friday we are going back to the body shop.

Tuesday we were allowed to stay in the coach all day but the smell of the sealant drove us out in the afternoon.Wednesday and Thursday we were not allowed in the coach all day.

It's tough to keep yourself amused all day with 3 dogs when the temperature is in the 80's.You can't leave them in the car too long or poof they will be saw dust.

We usually go for breakfast and leave them cause it's still cool in the morning. We have been to Russellville,Florence and Tupelo killing time, but are running out of things to do during the day.
Maybe lunch in the park

After the work is done we have been tipping a few with our new friends Ailean  and Darcy from Ontario but they left yesterday morning.

We killed last night with some other new friends from Brechin,On.We are the only 4 Canadians here at the present.

PS  In case you have not heard,Sonny is now blind as a bat.He walks into everything. It's a very sad sight.
